THE DAYS I WILL NEVER HAVE . . .

THE DAYS I WILL NEVER HAVE . . .
THE DAYS SHE WILL HAVE . . .
I did not lose a little baby child,
I lost a lifetime of days I will never see . . .

I will never feel your tiny hand reach out and hold my finger, making my hands feel strong and protective.

You will grasp the finger of Jesus,
His nail pierced hands saved me when I was helpless.

I will never see you half run, half skip as you giggle and play in the yard.
You laugh and play with screams of joy before the Throne of God.
I will never hear you say Daddy, Daddy, watch me, watch me, as you perform some simple task.
I would grin at your excitement.
You will say Daddy, Daddy, watch me, watch me, and God the Father will grin and say I never stopped watching you.

I will never take you to the zoo, or examine a leaf, or rock, or the sky.

With joy and excitement you will discover and explore the large and the small of the universe, and God will show you how every detail proclaims His love and wisdom.

I will never hold your hand and look both ways to cross the street.
You will walk the street of gold with Angels by your sides.

No tickle parties, where we join together in a heap of fingers and
bellies and laughter and rolls, giggles and roars and heart and souls.
Tickle party Spirit to Spirit, laughter to laughter, heart to heart, soul to soul.

I will never introduce you to my Savior and tell you of
His love for me and kneel with you in prayer.

The day that I come home, you will meet me at the
gate and introduce me to the Lord I love.

We will kneel and worship together.

I will never walk you down the aisle on your wedding day,
to place you in the loving care of another man,
and smile and cry with joy and pride and loss.

We will walk the aisle together the Bride of Christ to be and
He will take us in His arms and love us tenderly.
